Katherine is a graduate of the former Camden-Rockport High School and of Davidson College who ran away to sea after graduating from college. Her passion for cooking and love of tropical warmth launched her first career as a private yacht chef, despite not knowing how to sail when she landed her first job on a 72’ wooden boat. Nearly a decade later she returned to her hometown of Camden to build a successful private chef and catering business, begin a family, and return to her roots of interior design. These first clients are still clients today.

Katherine's yachting career continues to play an influential role in her interior design. The tenet of “function alongside form” gained from her years working aboard private boats instilled in Katherine an appreciation and understanding of interiors that perform without a hitch while beautifully showcasing intentionally-designed lines and exceptional finishes. A now-intuitive grasp of the flow of work and activity in a kitchen gives her a firm footing for planning successful and enviable kitchens that easily play their role, whatever that may be: either as the hub of a busy home or the showcase for the preparation of fine cuisine.

Intent on giving a respectful nod to history, Katherine focuses on design that celebrates living in the present. Her affinity for the bustle of life, for artifacts, ideas, and patterns collected abroad, and for her love of family and golden retrievers, brings the best of reality to the homes she designs and curates.
